We all recognize that there is a shortage of staff, particularly in the restaurant business. Shame on this establishment for allowing its staff to treat customers like this. There are too many good breakfast places in and around the Tewksbury and Lowell area for any customers to be treated in this manner. As the check was presented, the waitress apologized about the comment regarding Dunkin’ Donuts, indicating it was a poor attempt at joking. It was only then that staff backed off a bit. Eventually, Joanne’s associate explained that she had a digestive order which kept her from eating quickly. Several times the staff came by the table encouraging them to pick up the pace of their eating. The waitress advised that if they wanted to talk, they should go to Dunkin’ Donuts down the street. Joanne explained that she and her associate were catching up after several years. Upon arrival, Joanne and her associate were immediately advised to not take too much time determining what to order and to eat quickly when their breakfasts. However, Joanne’s experience yesterday at Vic’s Waffle Barn in Tewksbury demands one. Normally we shy away from negative reviews. I bet during the week they are better able to balance temperature needs. We brought the hash browns and waffle home as part of the leftovers and once reheated, they were quite good!Īll in all, a success but I would avoid breakfast/lunch on the weekends. As shown in the picture, the butter would not melt. The serving size is quite generous enabling plenty of leftovers for another meal! The not-so-good: Hash browns were warm, not hot and not crispy. The good: The eggs were perfectly cooked, bacon crispy, and the omelet stuffed! Yum! The cook and flavor on the waffle was great: crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with hot/crispy hash browns and wheat toast. The parking area was quite small and not adequate for the crowd, but we figured it out.įood: My husband ordered 2 eggs over easy, crispy bacon, hot/crispy hash browns and a waffle on the side. The waiting area was a long, narrow hallway with some long (much needed) benches full of hungry yet friendly people. And service was attentive without hovering.Īmbiance: Classic diner with a combination of counter seating, tables and booths. We had multiple servers: drinks, take order, deliver food, coffee/tea refills, checkins, check, etc - but all were seamless with no level of disconnect so communications between the servers was clearly excellent. Once seated (about an hour wait), we were immediately offered coffee/drinks. is clearly experienced and been there many years. We knew it would be packed and there would be a wait. We made a tactical error and met another couple for brunch at noon on a Sunday. Our pals strongly recommended Vic's 'cause they know we just love a good breakfast.
